“They will be my people, and I will be their God. I will give them singleness of heart and action, so that they will always fear me for their own good and the good of their children after them. I will make an everlasting covenant with them: I will never stop doing good to them, and I will inspire them to fear me, so that they will never turn away from me. I will rejoice in doing them good and will assuredly plant them in this land with all my heart and soul.” — Jeremiah 32:38-41
I n the Fall of 2011, we decided to do a series centered around the concept of getting deeper in our personal relationships with God. For many of us, especially for those who have grown up with a religious background, we know that we are called to be Christians and that we should be striving for a relationship with our God. But as we grow older, it becomes easier to just settle for a shallow Christian walk – a life that’s not connected, not deep, and not characterized by growth. This disconnected relationship with God and others can be the consequence of many things: we allow our focus to turn from God to the world, we become “religious” people who’s walk with God is simply a routine, or we only see Christianity as a list of rules and regulations rather than the dreams and incredible things God has in store for us.
Whatever the case is for you, God desires for us to be connected with Him. Throughout this series, our teen ministry studied different topics on what can help us get (and stay) connected with God and with other disciples. Below you’ll find lessons from this series, including notes and handouts given to our students. We hope that you’ll utilize these resources to get deeper in your own walk with God, and as always, please feel free to CONTACT us with any questions you may have!
